Maria Maria jewellery is designed, and assembled in our little studio (desk) in West Auckland, Aotearoa. We source quality materials from near and far.

Learn more about our components and materials below:

Gold-filled and 925 sterling silver settings and components:

Our gold-filled and sterling silver hoops, wires, head pins and connecting components are made in the USA by a company that has been manufacturing quality, fine jewellery for nearly 50 years!

Their materials are the foundations of most of our designs, so quality and workmanship are crucial in this step of the process, and they deliver beautiful pieces every time.

All of our sterling silver components are made from 100% recycled silver, certified by United Precious Metal Refining Inc.

Beads, semi-precious stones and some charms:

Most of these little pretties come from suppliers in China, USA and Aotearoa. Like most small handmade businesses, we started creating a network of suppliers, starting with websites like Etsy.com. It involves a lot of trial and error and the occasional heartbreak, but it's super fun hunting out quality and unique findings.

Tissue wrap and packaging:

We use noissue for our tissue paper and wrap. Our tissue is printed with soy-based inks, on FSC-certified paper, and is acid, sulphur, and lignin-free. It is 100% compostable, recyclable, and made from recycled materials.

You can always expect to receive your order free from plastic packaging. Our shipping sleeves are plastic free, made from Corn-starch and PLA and are certified home compostable.

Our box and tissue are recyclable, and our reusable 100% cotton pouches are designed for you to keep your jewellery in, or as a handy travel pouch.
